Biography

Mauricio Mejia is a design educator, design researcher, and transdisciplinary designer. His design practice and research work focus on how visual and interaction design can be used in strategic goals such as better human experiences and behavior change. He is interested in transdisciplinary collaborations with areas such as psychology, behavioral economics, health, sustainability, and social sciences. Mejia has published articles in recognized design journals such as Art, Design & Communication in Higher Education, The Design Journal, Information Design Journal, and Visible Language; and papers in major conferences such as AIGA educators conference, World Design Summit, the International Symposium on Electronic Arts (ISEA), the Design and Emotion Conference. Mejia received a PhD in Design from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. And he received his Master of Design degree from the University of Cincinnati, with the support of a Fulbright grant. He has taught in universities in United States and Colombia.
