ASU’s School of Sustainability (V.2017)

A collaborative project between the School and GIOS Informatics and Technology

Improved user experience

  • Navigation is streamlined so visitors can browse and find things much easier.
  • Now with a goal oriented structure that focuses on prospective student lead generation and current SOS student support.
  • Sustainabilty Success Spotlights added with content from multiple GIOS & SOS program websites.
  • New Home Page features such as: Top Eight Reasons to attend, new feature section, new videos and updated classics.
  • Comprehensive new Careers section with engaging infographics and useful information sources.
  • All content has been “cleaned” to remove underused and dated information.
  • The site is now organized so we can easily add or adjust information whithout major navigation changes.
  • We have improved the mobile user experience.

Multiple technical enhancements

  • Amazon powered content deliver network (CDN) provides faster page loading for all visitors.
  • Code is more easily read by Google and other web crawlers that index websites.
  • Site-maps are automatically created for uploading into search engines.
  • Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is prioritized to improve search result rankings.

Additional planned improvements

  • Google Translate for international visitors, will prompt Google auto-translated page content, based on visitor’s browser default language.
  • Newsletters for our Undergraduate and Graduate students.
  • Improved Faculty section including bios and search functions.
  • “What is Sustainability” page improvements.
  • Improved Testimonial section.
  • Photos sharing and soliciting.
