Student Managed Program - The Sustainability Review

The Sustainability Review

The Sustainability Review (TSR) communicates sustainability challenges, developments, and opportunities through reporting, analysis, opinion, and art/visual media. We are an online journal edited and published by graduate students at Arizona State University and hosted by the university’s School of Sustainability.

Mission

The mission for TSR 2.0 is to maximize viewer engagement and education by publishing peer-reviewed science videos online (SciVOs).

The Sustainability Review Overview

Sustainability, in theory and practice, integrates environment, society, and economy to explore a better way forward for humankind. As a forum, The Sustainability Review publishes original work that contributes to discourse about the rich interplay among these topics. TSR’s four sections (art, opinion, features, and research) complement each other to advance our readership’s understanding and to explore sustainability’s multifaceted and interconnected components.

We welcome individuals of diverse academic and professional backgrounds with an interest in sustainability to submit pieces for publication. All submitted content is subject to editorial review before it will be considered for publication.

Vision

At TSR our vision is to bring key tenets of ASU’s New American University to the world of sustainability science communication. The new platform will utilize a video-based format to present scientific research in short, compelling videos instead of written articles. Our focus is not just on making information available online, but it is on communicating science in a way that engages viewers and inspires them to take action.
