Graduate Admissions Requirements

All applicants must meet the basic requirements of Graduate Admissions.

  1. Application. ASU uses a generic application for all graduate programs.

  2. $70 application fee for Domestic Applicants and $90 application Fee for International Applicants. Applications submitted without the fee will not be processed or reviewed.

  3. Official copy of transcripts. Unofficial copies will not be accepted. Students should send transcripts from each university or college they have attended (ASU transcripts do not need to be sent). Official transcripts are normally sent from the issuing institutions in sealed envelopes, stamped and verified by the issuing institutions.

  4. If sending by U.S. mail send transcripts to:
    Arizona State University
    Graduate Admission Services
    P.O. Box 871003
    Tempe, AZ 85287-1003

If sending by FedEx, DHL or UPS send to:
    Arizona State University
    Graduate Admission Services
    1151 S. Forest Avenue, #SSV112

    If sending electronically:
ASU only accepts the following electronic transcript services: E-Scrip, Parchment, National Student Clearinghouse, and Credentials, Inc. Transcripts must be sent directly to gradtranscripts@asu.edu from those transcript services or from the institutions that use those services.

  5. U.S. bachelor’s degree. Or the equivalent from a regionally accredited institution, or the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor’s degree from an international institution officially recognized by the country in which the institution is located. If the student is completing a bachelor’s degree, an official transcript will need to be sent both at the time of application and upon completion of the degree.

  6. Equivalent to a B average. (Applies to the last 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours of undergraduate coursework.) Students not meeting the minimum 3.00 GPA requirement may still be considered. Professional experience and the statement of intent will be used to make a decision on whether an exception to the minimum GPA requirement will be made. If the applicant has a graduate degree completed, their graduate GPA can be taken into consideration in place of a lower undergraduate GPA.

  7. English proficiency for international graduate applicants. Applicants from a country whose native language is not English (regardless of where the applicant resides now) must provide proof of English proficiency. Please visit the Graduate Admissions’ English proficiency website for details on acceptable exams. Unofficial scores will not be accepted.

All application materials submitted to Graduate Education will be forwarded to the School of Sustainability.
