All new freshmen take part in Camp SOS, which provides students with an introduction to the School of Sustainability, their major, faculty, staff, and their peers. Incoming transfer students are also welcome to attend. The camp experience is intended to be fun and engaging, providing an opportunity for students to build a strong foundation that will support them as they begin their academic journey.
Students under 18 years-old will need a parent or guardian to sign the registration form. There are not any additional costs associated with the camp. A registration form link will be sent in the near future to all students.

Transportation and Lodging
A chartered bus will be used for transportation to and from the camp. Students will sleep in a dorm-type cabin with a bed and mattress. Students will need to bring a sleeping bag or bedding and a pillow. Showers are available.
What to Bring
Students should plan to bring:
- Any prescribed medications
- Clothes for varying temperatures
- Shoes and socks for outdoor activities
- Sleeping bag or sheets and a blanket and a pillow
- Toiletries and towels
- Refillable water bottle
Students may also want to bring:
- Shower footwear
- Rain gear (depending on weather forecast)
- Field guides
Average temperatures for the month of August range from a minimum of 56 degrees to 86 degrees Fahrenheit and August tends to be the month with the most precipitation.
Meals will be provided and vegetarian and vegan options will be included. Students may also bring snacks.
