Galvin Playhouse within Nelson Fine Arts Center
The ceremony will last approximately one hour and we hope you will join us for a reception immediately following.
Convocation is a special celebration, with tradition and symbolism that date back centuries in the history of higher education. "Convocation" means a gathering and in academics, College and cultural convocations are a time for smaller groups to gather and celebrate educational achievements.
The School of Sustainability Convocation is an exclusive ceremony that individually recognizes undergraduate and graduate candidates from the School of Sustainability. Graduates’ names are read as they cross the stage to receive personal congratulations from the School of Sustainability administration, faculty, staff and family.
Convocation Ceremony Instructions
Once you have RSVP'd through MyASU, the School of Sustainability will receive confirmation of your participation in the ceremony along with your degree information.
Due to the change in location, tickets are not required for this event.
All graduates should plan on arriving at Galvin Playhouse via the 10th street entrance at least one hour prior to the ceremony. There will be signs instructing graduates where to go. Please be on time. Family and friends will not be allowed in the backstage area and should proceed to the main auditorium. You should ask your guests to watch over any personal items.
When you arrive at Galvin Playhouse on the day of the event, please check in at the sign in table. You will be directed to a staging area for further information. Upon your arrival you will be given your reader card with your name on it. Please verify that the information on the card is correct. This card will be given to the person reading names at the ceremony. It is important to check in on time because you will also receive additional instructions about the order of the processional and your part in the ceremony.
Additional information will be emailed to graduating students one week prior to event.
Names of students who did not apply by the application deadline may not appear in the convocation program until the following semester.
