Bio

Dr. Golden co-directs The Sustainability Consortium which will collaborate with businesses, non-government organizations (NGOs) and governmental agencies, and will design and develop a sustainable product index for consumer products. In addition he directs the National Center of Excellence on SMART Innovations for Urban Climate & Energy (www.asuSMART.org) which partners with industries and governments worldwide to develop a new generation of strategies and technologies to address climate-energy system impacts. Dr. Golden serves as a Special Advisor to the Mayor of Phoenix on Sustainable Technologies, Special Advisor for Sustainability to the management team at the Dial Corporation, and on the Steering Committee for WalMart, where he assists in formulating a global sustainable-labeling and indexing program for consumer and retail products. Golden also serves on the Board on Urban Environments, American Council on Renewable Energy, and has been appointed to programs of the United Nations Life Cycle Management Task Force and to a US EPA workgroup for sustainable materials in urban regions. He helped found the ASU chapter of Engineers without Borders, an international humanitarian organization. Dr. Golden teaches courses on organizational strategies, sustainable energy, climate change, life-cycle management, and systems thinking
